Alok is actively involved with the running of a local business network, Ethnic Minority Business Group (EMBG). This is a not for profit organisation, set up in August 2005 to run business networks. With effect from March 2006 EMBG took over the running and management of a long established minority business network (MBN). The MBN was previously run in partnership with Business Link Hertfordshire and funded by the Phoenix ‘Share and Succeed’ project. EMBG is now self funding, raising funds from a variety of sources. Benefits which the EMBG will offer its members include courses, network events, seminars (many free) as well as special B2B deals from well known and reputable suppliers. As one of the aims of EMBG is to integrate minority businesses into the mainstream they will be actively seeking participation from all sections of the business community. There are currently B2B deals for banking from Lloyds TSB and their card division, cardnet and Bibby Financial Services offering member special terms on their invoice financing facilities.
Clients should seek professional advice if they are unsure of the financial implications of any deal presented on the EMBG website. Amitra & Co do not endorse any products which appear on the EMBG site.
Membership of the MBN is currently free. Visit the EMBG website for further details.
